The Putnam County ordinance that established the Fire Fee, defines two pay schedules.
One for Commercial and one for Residential(non-commercial).

The revenue from the fire fees is used to help keep the Fire Departments in Putnam County operational. The monies are used to pay items such as utilities; insurance; worker’s compensation; maintenance and repairs to facilities, equipment, and apparatus; training; operational services; preventive maintenance and inspections; fuel; and administrative costs to pay bills for the stations, send out billing notices, and collect/process payments.
Commercial entities of Putnam County contribute to the fire service by a rate schedule that is based upon square footage.
